Usain Bolt storms to 200m Victory

Usain Bolt retained his World Championship title winning the 200m in an impressive 19.40. American Walter Dix finished second behind the Jamaican champion. Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre who recorded the fastest time (20.19) in the semi-finals finished recorded a personal best of 19.80 to take bronze.

The other Jamaican in the race Nickel Ashmeade was fifth in 20.29. Usain’s win brings Jamaica’s medal tally so far to 3 gold, 3 silver and a bronze.

Earlier in the championships Usain Bolt had lost his 100m title to fellow countryman Yohan Blake after being disqualified for a false start. But Bolt recoved from the disappointment to run the third fastest 200m in history and retin his World Championship title.
