The Bank Of Jamaica is honouring late reggae superstar BOB MARLEY by issuing commemorative gold and silver coins. The 1,000 coins, which feature the singer's dread-locked likeness, are being produced by the British Royal Mint and are being sold for $100 (GBP56) each. On June 8th 2006 the Montego Bay Cruise Shipping Pier welcomed the world's biggest cruise ship and close to 4000 passengers as the Freedom of the Sea makes it's first stop in Jamaica on it's maiden voyage with it's last stop being the Cayman Islands and it's next stop being Haiti before returning home to Miami. Prime Minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi visited Jamaica for two days (May 2-3, 2006). Mr Badawi and various ministers of his own parliament met and discussed many issues with representatives of the Jamaican government, he also met with the Governor-General Prof Kenneth Hall and Opposition Leader Bruce Golding before making a tour of Highway 2000.
