Plans are underway to give National Heroes Park a well needed makeover by the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) – the state owned entity responsible for the disposal of waste island-wide as well as the maintenance of many others parks, state open spaces under contract.

The park is being renovated with the aim of attracting locals to it’s facilities especially children so that they may learn about Jamaica history. Tourists and other interest groups are also expected to flock to the park
