JUTC Adding 100 new Buses to Fleet

The Jamaica Urban Transit Company will be adding another 100 buses to it’s Kingston Metropolitan Transport Region fleet. The first 50 buses are already in the island and will be formally introduced on June 1st 2010 while the second shipment of 50 buses should arrive within a month and will be introduced on July 1st 2010.

The state owned company recently received a fair increase to $80 on April 1st and Communications Manager of the transit company Reginald Allen was quick to point out that the buses will bring greater dignity, comfort and convenience to the public transportation system.

The new buses feature:

  • Advanced fleet management and security features from companies like Lytx.
  • GPS tracking.
  • Seating capacity of 53.
  • Air Conditioning and Climate control.
  • State-of-the-art audio and sound system.
  • Stainless Steal.
  • Custom colour scheme.
