Prince Harry to visit Jamaica on behalf of the Queen

Grandson of The Queen, His Royal Highness, Prince Henry of Wales (always known as Prince Harry), will visit Jamaica from March 5 to 8 on behalf of The Queen. The four-day visit is in commemoration of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee – her 60th year since accession. Prince Harry’s visit to Jamaica is the final stop in his visits to Commonwealth countries in the Caribbean. The other two stops will be in Belize followed by The Bahamas. This is the first time that Prince Harry will be on an official duty on behalf of The Queen. It is also his first time in the Caribbean. Lover’s Leap to be Reopened in March

Jamaica's Minister of Tourism and Entertainment, the Hon. Dr. Wykeham McNeill has revealed that the world renowned Lover’s Leap attraction in St. Elizabeth, which was closed in 2010, will be reopened in March. The attraction was closed after the previous operator, which leased the property from the Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo.), suddenly decided to end the lease arrangement. Jamaica Government Committed to LNG Project

Minister of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining (STEM), Hon. Phillip Paulwell, has reiterated the Government’s intention to continue the LNG project started under the previous administration. Under the project, LNG will be supplied to the government and construction of an LNG Floating Storage and Re-gasification Terminal will be undertaken. Stephen Marley scoops up 10th Grammy

Another Marley has won a Grammy. Last night at Harlem's Apollo Theater, it was Stephen who would be honoured with a Grammy for his Revelation Pt 1: The Root Of Life album. This is the 10th time the Marley is holding on to the Grammy, also winning five as part of Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers. Stephen also won two with Damian Marley. He stood on the podium as a solo artiste in 2007 and 2009 for Mind Control and Mind Control Acoustic, respectively. Marley sculpture by Gregory Pototsky erected at UTech

THE University of Technology (UTech) yesterday unveiled a sculpture of late Reggae icon, Robert Nesta “Bob” Marley, at its Papine campus in St. Andrew. The piece, which has been erected in the institution’s Caribbean Sculpture Park, was designed by Russian sculptor, Gregory Pototsky, and presented as a gift to the institution and, by extension, the government and people Jamaica. The unveiling of the Bob Marley sculpture coincided with the 67th anniversary of the late Reggae exponent’s birth, and was one of two pieces formally presented to UTech.
